Remember 1996? When CD ROM drives were the latest thing in computers? When Myst was the coolest game? At the time, nothing I had ever played was as immersive, story-driven, intriguing and addictive as the JP2 game (note to ubernerds: it's made in Director 4.0 so if you still have that authoring software, you can actually look at the sprites and even make a new projector, changing things around, like the address of locations - or put pictures of your pet inside the environments). The game took me about 40 hours to play, and the puzzles are very nicely integrated into the story (unlike those in Riven, for example). I actually bought this on ebay just so I can own it still, because I lent it and never got it returned. Really sad is the fact that the shop which made this game is no longer in business. Playstation, GTA, Crysis, etc... makes the whole industry no longer spend efforts on truly interesting and fun, non-violent games of this sort.

This game has a smaller graphics window [intended to imitate looking through the suit helmet] with older graphics, but is a delight to play. Going back to an easier time when playing a game was intended to relieve stress, without compromising the challenge, this is a good one.
Even if the window is smaller [requires simple video setting adjustment to enlarge it] it still is highly environmental. i searched a long time to find this game & am very glad i was able to play it in Vista. This is one of the rare classics that will stand the test of time as long as it is OpSys supported.

My son just loves this game. It was difficult to find, and so appreciate that Amazon had it.

This was one of the first games i ever played, WAY back in 1996 or 97. It was incredible.
First off this is just a really good game. It's predecessor was decent, but still stuck in a past age. The journeyman Project 2 was a true breakthrough. It features robust sound and graphics, fascinating game play, and even the ability to DIE (conspicuously absent from the third game in the trilogy...), making gameplay far more perilous and much more fun. A simple but fair scoring system allows for extended replay value. And "Arthur" makes a golden game platinum and funny as hell.
I really liked this game because there was mystery, non-linear gameplay, challenging puzzles (which may send you back to amazon for the strategy guide) and just a general atmosphere of eclectic richness (you go from a saturn space colony to bungee pits in ancient mexico). It really is a blast.
And the creators really spent some time with the story. Take time to explore and learn about all of the plots and history involved with the game. It makes for a very engrossing vacation from your ordinary PC adventure.
